FAQs
Everything you may want to know before starting your journey with Beautiful Pet Portraits...
Hopefully this page answers any questions you may have, but if not please do feel free to contact me for more information.
Where is the best place to shoot?
Cats are happiest in their own home, so I only photograph cats in the home. Dogs can be photographed at home or on location and there are a number of beautiful settings around Mid Sussex to get some amazing shots.
Can I dress my pet up?
I am afraid this is a hard no for cat owners. Years of working as a freelancer for Cats Protection has taught me that cats can actually become quite stressed when made to wear clothes or accessories and this goes against my ethical stand point on pet care.
On the other hand, dogs are usually much more amiable and happy to wear accessories. We can discuss this in our initial chat.
How many pictures can I choose from?
I try and capture as many images as possible on every shoot but not all of them will be usable (animals tend to be tricky to work with at times!) I typically aim for you to be able to choose from up to 40 images from your final gallery.
What if my pet is too shy?
As part of our initial consultation we will discuss the temperament of your pet. Animals will always be a little unpredictable and at times may be reluctant to engage or pose for photos, especially cats, but in my extensive experience of working with animals I have gained a number of techniques to overcome any camera shyness. However, if your pet will not engage at all we will discuss the possibility of a re-shoot, if appropriate.
Can owners be in the pictures as well??
Absolutely. I am happy to feature owners and family members in the photos if you wish.
I don't like the colours of the images, can these be altered?
Yes of course. If you are not happy with the images they can be altered and black and white photography can also be provided.
